Terms and conditions
Please read the following terms and conditions for fly fishing with the New Zealand Fly Fishing Company and contact us if you have any questions prior to booking your trip with us.
We will be happy to discuss and clarify any queries you might have. By choosing to fish with us you agree to these terms and conditions.
Privacy
Any information you provide to us either via our secure website or during the booking process will be kept confidential and only shared with a partner or supplier if it is required for their delivery (eg dietary requirements for our caterer preparing lunches)
Insurance and Indemnity
Full responsibility for adequate and appropriate insurance cover is with you. It is your responsibility to purchase an insurance policy that adequately covers the activities you will be engaged in on your trip to New Zealand. We recommend Sandra at Health and Travel Insurance Brokers.
Your fly fishing in NZ may involve walking on rocks, wading rivers, tramping through forests, rafting rivers or travel by helicopter or fixed wing planes. We only work with professional operators who give safety the utmost importance and have a health and safety plan in place. Our guides always put safety first and we operate under a health and safety plan. Each guide has their own professional guiding insurance.
All fly fishing guides who take clients for The New Zealand Fly Fishing Company are independent contractors, and as such they carry their own insurance cover for while they are taking clients fly fishing. They each have their own Health & Safety Plan following New Zealand Worksafe criteria. We take client safety and satisfaction very seriously, and value any feedback to help us improve our processes and those of the guides we contract. Ultimately if there is a serious issue during the day fishing with a guide, any liability is with the contracted guide themself and their insurance provider, and not with The New Zealand Fly Fishing Company. We would help both parties resolve any situation as best we could.
Payment Terms
Payment is required on confirmation of your booking and can be made with credit card via Paypal or with a bank transfer.
All prices are in NZ dollars and include all relevant New Zealand sales taxes.
Prices include all fishing gear, food and transport for each day of your guided fishing. You are responsible for transport to and from Taupo or Turangi and evening meals and breakfasts, unless you are on multi-day trips where you are staying away with your guide in the wilderness. You are also responsible for paying for appropriate fishing licences and your guide can help with this.
Cancellation
You may cancel your booking at any time in writing. Generally we will refund your money in full. If you cancel within 14 days and can’t provide a fair reason such as illness or travel issues, then we may retain a portion of the booking as we may have forfeited other bookings on that same day and the cancellation may have incurred admin time and costs.
Depending on the reason for cancellation, we are flexible with this policy on compassionate grounds.
On rare occasions that there is terrible weather and no fishing is available anywhere then we try to postpone or you’ll be refunded.
We run our business on common sense, professionalism, being fair and reasonable, and with a focus on safety and outstanding personal service. If you have any queries please click below to get in touch.
